If you are under age 21 and applying as a freshman, you must meet one of the following standards: Minimum grade point average of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale
or Minimum ACT composite score of 17 or 920 ACT score.
Test scores are not required for admission. However, test scores are still required for scholarships and they are used for academic advising.
ETSU will superscore ACT/SAT scores for admission, and for scholarship decisions made by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. Scholarships administered by other units (for example, the ETSU Honors College or a specific academic college or department) may have their own requirements; please check directly with those units.
Test-takers should request their scores be sent to ETSU electronically by the test agency. Some students may be required to take the Accuplacer Test to identify subjects in which additional coursework is needed.
Undergraduate, degree-seeking students enrolled at ETSU may establish advanced standing credit through a number of non-traditional means. Read more about our non-tradition credit options.
Applicants 18 years of age or older who are not high school graduates may be considered for admission by completing the HiSET/ GED (General Education Development test)/ HSE (high school equivalency diploma). Have your testing institution submit your official scores or credential to ETSU.
